Nikki Helmsley runs the section of West that covers our village. Although she was already very knowledgeable about our village having spent her formative years growing up there, she stayed on top of all that is going in there and in the environs. Nikki is extremely thorough and detail-oriented in all she does. She is very committed to showing how professional an estate agent can be and it is clear that not only has she succeeded in that endeavor, her professionalism would lead you to believe she would be successful in whatever profession she chose. The Brexit referendum has truly stalled the market for us and the other agents we had previously used over the years were not nearly so clever or energetic as she is. We accepted a good offer within a very short time of her listing and yet she never stopped working--keeping all going forward well and executing chores that we could not as we now live abroad. She is dedicated, committed, honest and very hardworking. I recommend her highly. As an addendum, I would like to also commend Gavin West as well. When Nikki was on holiday early on the process, he not only stepped in to cover for her but was in constant communication with us at hours that would not have been so convenient for him. She said she thought it was possible we would get a proceedable, acceptable offer within weeks (we did); they said plan on months in today’s market. She said she developed strong and trusted relationships with the buyer and seller and that was key to helping manage a transaction to completion (she did); her competitors made no such claim and I wouldn’t have believed them if they had. We have consulted with Gareth and his colleagues since 2013 having come into the letting investment market from a standing start. We have found over the years that the team is extremely proactive in terms of prospecting for new tenants and ensuring that our voids are minimalised. Their on the spot service is well considered and consultative and is a value add where access to your property is not possible on a daily basis. In short they are trustworthy and reliable. Their dealings with tenants is fair and just but has regard for the client and their interest in upholding your investment value. They regularly check the market for rents and look to enhance the income where possible, balancing out the long term rental receipt with the focus on income growth. The whole process we experienced was of the highest professional standard I have ever received, we have sold a number of high end properties in our life and this was probably the best estate agent experience we have ever had.
The bottom line is that you need to sell your house, other agents will sometimes give you false expectations on price, time scales etc. Gavin West was brutally honest with us on price after the house had been on the market for eighteen months and his honesty paid off after it was sold in four days.
