Often thought of as a residential and industrial district forming part of Greater Oxford, Cowley is renowned today for the Plant Oxford car factory owned by BMW; transformed originally after 1912, when William Morris bought the former Oxford Military College and moved Morris Motors Limited into it from its former premises in Oxford. Above all else, in the 21st Century, Cowley has probably become Oxford’s most vibrant, multi-cultural suburbs, with a fantastic food and restaurant culture coupled with great music venues and extensive “boutique” shopping. It continues to be highly investable as a residential area, given its access to the city centre and its eclectic “Bohemian” atmosphere
